2 October Update:

The temperature is dropping, the wind is howling, might there be some snow on the way? We're optimistic for some fresh fluffy snow throughout the week and over the weekend.

We have a few of the ski areas now closed, a few open through this weekend, and possibly one going strong as long as the snow stays and we keep heading up to keep those tows spinning. Now is a primo time to tire out the kids over the school holidays and make the most of the last of the snow. Don't forget the sunscreen!
Read on for a full update from around the mountains.

Planning to head outside the ski area boundaries? Check out the Avalanche Advisory site for up to date information or to submit your own observation: avalanche.net.nz.

If you're keen on to check out the ski areas on this page with the Chill Pass you can read more about our pass options here. You can also use the Travel Pass at Christchurch Adventure Park.
